ORDERING/COMMISSIONING
This is a custom metal design and fabrication shop. Though you may find our
prices to be higher, please understand that we are not trying to compete with the production iron shops. Our goal is to create
a quality custom metal piece just for you, unique, custom designed and hand made. We will not duplicate anything in someone
else's home and we will not duplicate another artist's work
To begin our relationship, there will be an initial consultation / design visit. This will typically be on site to measure,
review any plans and communicate with designers, contractors and home owners. We often request sketches or photos if you already
have a design in mind, or we can create a detailed drawing based on your input and submit it for your approval.
PROCESSING
Your project will not go on our calendar until we have recieved your signed proposal, confirmation
of price and design and a minimum 10 (30 percent for copper work) percent deposit. All out of town orders will require
a 50% deposit with the balance due in full prior to shipment.
Your signed proposal may
be accompanied by check, cash or credit card. Due to the high cost of processing fees for MASTERCARD and VISA, we do not accept
credit cards for payments over $1000.00. For payments over $1,000.00, we will accept, check, cashier's check, money order
or cash.
Once all of the above is in place, we will begin processing your order.
Please read the following carefully: When you
place your order, you sign a contract that is legally binding for both you and The Metal Shoppe. We accommodate cancellations
according to our progress and expenses incurred.
If you
wish to cancel your contract before you send your signed proposal/contract and initial deposit payment, you may do so without
penalty.
If you wish to cancel after we receive your payment,
but before we proceed with drawings or engineering, we will refund all but 20% of the deposit total.
After we start preparing drawings, engineering work or fabrication, you may cancel the order,
but your deposit is forfeited at this point.
If we have
already begun fabricating your order, you cannot cancel at this point and payment will be expected in full per the signed
proposal.
We take orders first come first serve. We cannot
reserve spots on our calendar without the minimum downpayment. In most cases, we can begin fabrication of your piece within
*8-10 weeks for larger projects. *We recommend that you call for a current schedule.
The custom work at The Metal Shoppe is primarily done by Eric and Debra/ www.acopperrose.com. We have chosen to keep our shop small and intimate partly for economic reasons, but primarily and most importantly for quality
control. We are skilled craftspeople and we take the time necessary to produce a quality product.
We are currently approximately 8-10 weeks out on larger jobs. We will
give you a reasonable and realistic ESTIMATION OF COMPLETION. If there
are changes in design following acceptance of proposals, this will likely result in delays. If there are changes in design
after construction has begun, this will result not only in obvious delays, and will likely result in adjustments to the originally
quoted price.
